You won’t find a more holistic approach to wellness than at Westminster Canterbury Richmond. Here, we care about inspiring the mind, nurturing the spirit and strengthening the body by embracing all dimensions of wellness at every level of life. Our goal is to shift the perception from just physical wellness to a definition of wellness as holistic and comprehensive. Activities are designed to help residents learn the importance of a well-balanced lifestyle and increase the awareness of whole person wellness.
These activities not only include more than thirty group fitness and aquatics classes every week, but lectures and workshops on issues such as fall prevention, diabetes, and ways to combat movement disorders. A committee of residents assists our well-trained wellness team in choosing topics and classes to ensure the programming offered is new and relevant.
Let’s Be Social
All of us have a human need to interact with others. To laugh, discuss and experience the world around us not only with the friends we’ve already made but with our new neighbors. Our recreation team creates fun, lively opportunities every week that celebrates a zest for life in all residents. Whether it’s live music and dancing, cookouts on the Ellipse, themed bridge parties, campus wide parades or anniversary celebrations, there is always a reason to come out, be social and have a great time.
We also believe in taking the show on the road! Several excursions are offered every month to some of the best attractions that Virginia has to offer. Whether you like baseball, museums, shopping, historic homes, amazing food, picking strawberries or boat tours, we have the trip for you.
